Brush collabs are not frequent (unless it’s Morphe), so we’re always so excited to see new ones! Beautylish is launching their collab with Sonia G, an ultimate Face Brush Set, TOMORROW Friday, 1.26! The set comes with five brushes: Fan Pro, Detail Pro, Inochige Pro, Face Pro and Cheek Pro. Now the one thing about brush set collabs is that the price tag tends to be kind of crazy. This one is sitting at $270, wow!
Y’all.. You have GOT to be either the biggest fan of Beautylish OR a die hard for Sonia G to get down with this brush set… I mean, PHEW that price tag is INSANE. That’s literally $54 per brush… Lemme know any little eye blending brush that is worth that much. These are like, a bougie as it gets! And the main problem – they don’t even LOOK bougie! They kind of look cheap and boring if you ask me… And also, who needs these new brushes?? Especially for that price?? Like, if you are into makeup enough to spend this much on brushes, you probably already have all of these brushes because they really aren’t anything new or innovative. So then if you are just starting up with makeup and need to grow your brush collection, well… you most likely are not at the point of spending this much on brushes! So either way, I just don’t get it and I don’t support anything this absurd. Sorry not sorry.
To me this set actually looks wonderful! but then again Ionly own one face brush, soo….only problem: I can not afford it for the life of me.
uhm…sounds a bit harsh. Yes they are expensive however they are hand made by artisans in a small village in Japan with skill and high quality material. i’ve been in Kumano and witnessed with my own eyes how brushes are made (not these specifically). I own quite a few brushes, especially japanese but also synthetic ones.
I also own a few of her brushes and the eye pro set and Sonia’s brushes are the ones I use the most because they bloody deliver and make applying make up an easy and pleasurable job. I’m sure you can achieve good results with far less expensive brushes however these are not mass produces and are designed, in my opinion, for people like me who love the art behind it, the artisanship and prefer to invest in good quality items rather than cheap tools. You don’t need them but they are worth it if you can / wish to buy them. My opinion based on my experience.
P.S. I did not get the whole set as I don’t need them all, but I’ve waited for them to be available individually and I’m planning to get a couple.
