Pat McGrath is launching their NEW Mothership V Eyeshadow Palette on Friday, 9.07! This palette is absolutely a beauty but make sure you brace yourself for when you hear the price tag… a whopping $125! Now Pat McGrath is anything but cheap but this is a big step up from $55 for their 6 shadow palettes, to $125 for 10 shades. The palette features the shades Skinshow Divine Glow, Entrapment, Bronze Blaze, Gilty Pleasure, Disobedient, Xtreme Aubergine, Blitz Flame, VR Fire Opal, Rose Gold 005 & Astral Luna Gold.
Literally, physically, my jaw dropped when I saw that damn price tag. I KNOW makeup is/can be expensive. *cough NATASHA DENONA cough* but ummm, what?! First of all, let me know how you’re gonna charge $55 for a 6 pan palette and then MORE THAN DOUBLE THE PRICE just to add 4 more shades – she didn’t even double the number of shades! The confusion is so real. Like, do people even actually buy these??
I truly have never seen anyone i’m subscribed to on YouTube use any of her palettes. And does the average person buy these? Like, I do NOT think anyone can afford these nor do they even think any eyeshadow palette is worth a car payment. Just sayin…. I feel like it also kinda goes without saying that these shades are kind of a snoozefest. I mean, yes, the color story is veryyyyy fall and we won’t lie, the burgundy red and most of the other shimmers look amazing, as does that deep purpley black brown. But this is nothing new and nothing necessary. And with that price tag, we for sure know we can live without this one. Pass.
Hi there! This is Pat McGrath’s Mothership V (as in Roman numeral for five) palette — there are four others at $125/each, all of which came out prior to the six pan palettes at $55/each. I have all of palettes and while I completely agree the price is ridiculous, they are some of the absolute best eye shadows and eye shadow palettes I have. The packaging is very very luxe, and while that’s not a selling point for me, the incredible quality and richness of the eye shadows make it an indulgence. What can I say? Eye shadow palettes are my weakness and I’ve been fortunate to be able to purchase these. I’ve already noted the release date for the Bronze of Sept. 7th on my calendar!
hi! I am soooo glad to hear that they are at least worth the money! I literally have never spoken to someone that has actually owned them so i’m thrilled to know they are at least up to the standard that one would expect from that expensive of a palette! Eyeshadow palettes are totally my weakness too so I totally get you! Thanks for letting us know that they’re as good as they should be! 🙂
