Illamasqua: May Queen Collection

Illamasque May Queen Collection 2

Illamasqua is throwing it back to the old Pagan/British folk traditions of the Annual May Day Celebrations by releasing their new May Queen Collection on Thursday, 5.04! This collection revels in the age-old festivities put on to mark the beginning of summer and promote healing & purifying. For Illamasqua, this hits home & heart, as the Founder of the company, Julian Kynaston, has a grandmother that was once crowned as a May Queen, which traditionally occurs on the 1st of May.  His grandmother, the May Queen, led the May Day parade & stood as a symbol of purity, strength and grace – what a woman! Inspired by this lovely tradition, Illamasqua is celebrating unity & the start of summer with this INCREDIBLE collection!

The collection includes eyeshadows, a highlight, a few eyeshadows, a pure pigment & lipsticks! These all look so perfectly spring! The Pure Pigment named Muse is a super light, shimmery pink – this looks incredibly creamy & of course, will be hella opaque. This could totally double as highlighter AND an eyeshadow! Versatility for the WIN! The eyeshadows are going to leave you with crazy amounts of shimmer & pigment, too! The collection includes the shades Invoke, Ritual Maiden. One is zinc bronze, the other is a cool gold and the last is frosty lilac – how perfect will these be as your all-over lid shade?! And the Antimatter lipsticks – these look AMAZING! Charge is your new go-to hot pink. These apply smooth & with high pigmentation but dry down to a comfortable, semi-matte finish. Binary is a warmer, orangey red – another staple for your bright summer shade stash! We know you’re all eyeing that center highlight though, am I right?! The Beyond Highlighter has a green, gold shimmer (unique? yes!). This is not your subtle highlight, friends. But if you’re trying to glow, then go go go! As in, go get you some! The collection has a great starting lineup and the May Queen concept just has GIRL POWDER all over it.
