Speaking of YouTube videos (cause we posted one last night, did you see it?! If not, you should! It’s linked in our last post), our first ever video included a first impression on this very brand! Zuzu Luxe released two new eyeshadow palettes today, 8.01! The two new palettes are in the shades Wanderlust & Trailblazer and each retail $27.50. Like I said, we got the chance to test some Zuzu Luxe products before SOOOOO you should check that out out here. You can literally watch me use palettes just like this (but different shades) on my actual face. It was cool.
The Trailblazer Palette is right on trend with the warm, earthy tones. The shades inside the palette include Vulnerable (a vibrant peach), Grit (a buttery yellow with gold flecks), Paradigm (a golden ochre) and Brave (a cocoa brown, totally my fav). These compliment each other SO WELL! I can imagine an incredible deep, warm, super blown out look using all 4 of these shades. It looks as though Brave is the only truly matte shade, while the others seem to be a more satin finish. However, with the palettes that I have, even the more shimmer/satin shades don’t actually apply that way on the eye which I was actually veryyyyy pleasantly surprised to see! The shimmer seems to be mostly an overspray, making these shades super versatile! They can go in the crease OR on the lid and look INCREDIBLE either way.
Though I LOVE a good warm eye, the Wanderlust Palette is where my eye is drawn. This one has a stunning combo of cooler, contrasting shades. The shades include Exposed (a satin peach), Provoked (a deep cedar rose), Renegade (a neutral rose) and Graphic (a carbon matte black). This quad is PERFECT for sultry night-out looks or a light, delicate eye – again, SO VERSATILE! We love that! Plus, a palette with a deep, matte black can never be beat! I swear, it necessary. From deepening your look to lining the eye or even setting liquid liner, a black is a must.have.for.sure.
These palettes are suuuuuuper compact & perfect for travel! Plus, the brushes they come with are, surprisingly, actually useable – these might be the first ones you don’t throw out! They have really excellent color payoff and last like, allllllll day on the eye, too. In other words, I love just about everything about them. The only opportunity I see is in the feel of the formula – it doesn’t come off super creamy or soft. The texture is more dry when rubbed with your finger but, never fear! That totally doesn’t translate to the eye so you are ALL GOOD! Go try one out!
